The “Village-monde” brooch is handy to hold together the two sides of your shawl, keeping it snugly around your shoulders. Of course, it can also be worn on your jacket or coat lapel. Its sober, elegant design symbolises the Sorgue, the beautiful river which flows through and around Isle-sur-la-Sorgue. For decades, this benevolent waterway supplied us with the energy we needed to run our Factory, and today it contributes greatly to the feeling of harmony reigning in our town and its surroundings. The brooch represents the identifying emblem of “Village-monde”, or Village-World, a local project uniting men and women in a shared dream: to preserve and give life to their very special “Village-monde” while working towards the ideal town of tomorrow.
